How does the 2% work?
2% of every booking. Stripe processing fees are separate and go directly to Stripe — we never touch the money.
Can I pass the 2% to my travelers?
Yes. You can absorb the 2% in your margin or pass it through as a service fee at checkout — your call, set once at the workspace level. Either way, it’s the same 2% Samba collects.
Do you take a cut of the trip price, or the deposit?
Both — but only once. We charge 2% on the total booking value as the traveler pays. If a traveler pays $2,000 across four installments, we collect 2% of $2,000 over the course of those payments. Never double-counted.
What if I refund a traveler?
Our 2% is refunded along with the booking. You never pay Samba on money you didn’t keep.
What is the “first $10,000 free”?
The first $10,000 in bookings you ever process through Samba is free. No 2%, no anything. It’s there so you can run your first trips and confirm Samba works for your business before you start paying for it.
What happens when I hit the $10,000 threshold?
Nothing dramatic. The 2% kicks in on bookings past $10,000 — never retroactively. No action required from you when the threshold passes.
Do I need a paid plan to start?
No. Free is free, forever. You only move to Pro when you want roles, more than 2 trips, or proper reporting.
Can I switch plans later?
Anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately so you can use the new features right away. Downgrades apply on your next billing cycle. You’re never locked in.
