Questions, answered straight.

What’s the “first $10,000 free”?

The first $10,000 in bookings you ever process through Samba is free. No 2%, no anything. It’s there so you can run your first experiences and confirm Samba works before you pay for it.

Can I pass the 2% to my travellers?

Yes. Absorb it in your margin or add it as a service fee at checkout, set once at the workspace level. Either way it’s the same 2% Samba collects.

What if I collect a payment entirely offline?

No fee. If you take cash or a bank transfer yourself and just log the booking in Samba for your records, that’s free. You pay 2% when Samba does the work: a booking through our checkout, or one synced from a channel.

Why is it free? What’s the catch?

No catch. We only make money when you take bookings, so getting you live fast on a free plan is the whole point. We’d rather earn 2% of a business that’s working than a subscription from one that isn’t.

Can I use my own branding?

Yes, on every plan. Your logo, colours and font sit on your booking pages and widgets from day one. The only thing reserved for Enterprise is removing the small “Powered by Samba” badge entirely.

Is there a paid plan?

No. One free plan, everything included. If you’re doing serious volume and want custom rates, a full white-label, your own domain, API access or an SLA, that’s Enterprise, and it’s a conversation: talk to us.

What happens when I hit the $10,000 threshold?

Nothing dramatic. The 2% kicks in on bookings past $10,000, never retroactively. No action needed from you.

How does the 2% work?

2% of every booking, direct or OTA. Stripe processing fees are separate, go straight to Stripe, and we never touch the money.

Do you take a cut of the deposit, or the full price?

The full booking value, but only once. If a traveller pays $2,000 across four installments, we collect 2% of $2,000 over those payments. Never double-counted.

Do you charge on OTA bookings?

Yes. When a booking comes in from a connected channel like Viator or GetYourGuide, Samba syncs the availability, the passengers and the booking record, and keeps it all as your single source of truth. That’s the same 2% as a direct booking, because it’s the same work keeping your business straight.

What if I refund a traveller?

Our 2% is refunded along with the booking. You never pay Samba on money you didn’t keep.
